Scale radio control helicopters sit at the pinnacle of the RC world. Complex mechanically and challenging to fly, these models inspire excitement and curiosity from hobbyists and members of the public. HeliStorm will be the largest and most bespoke event of its kind in North America.

HeliStorm 2025 is an aviation event that will feature scale radio control pilots flying on the front grounds of the National Museum of the United States Air Force. We expect full scale aviation organizations along with STEM students from the Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati areas.

HeliStorm will be the largest and most unique scale heli event of its kind in North America. Jim Martin is leading the effort to organize volunteers for this event. You can sign-up and indicate your availability here. Once we get closer to the event, you'll get another invitation to select the jobs you'd like to do! We appreciate your willingness to help and will provide all volunteers with a HeliStorm safety vest and badge for use at the event.

*To be eligible for a scholarship award, the school must register here and send at least 20 students or the equivalent (each administrator or teacher counts as 2 students)

The Original EDF Jet Jam held at the fabulous Bill Beach Airfield located in Southern Indiana, just 20 minutes from Louisville, KY. Nestled in the Ohio River Valley between Indiana and Kentucky.
Pilots receive a jar of our famous "EDF Jet Jam" as part of the registration.
This is the EDF Jet event you want to be part of, flying from Dawn until Dark each day. Our seasoned Air Boss keeps the flight line moving!
The runway is 800' x 50' perfectly smooth and flat asphalt with a 1000' x 75' parallel grass runway.
The airspace is wide open with unobstructed approaches for take off and landing from either direction.
Flight line shelters and tents to watch the action between flights. The overnight storage tent keeps the models out of the elements at night.

Model Requirements:
Warbirds: This event is limited to Warbirds with a sport-scale outline minimum. Sport aircraft with Warbird markings are not permitted.
Classic aircraft: Those that the full-scale counterpart first flew a minimum of 50 years ago are welcome. There are no size requirements for models.
All sizes and types are welcomed for both Warbirds and Classic aircraft.
